Mandibular major connectors : Types

Six types of mandibular major connectors are:

1. Lingual bar (Figure A)

2. Linguoplate (Figure B)

3. Sublingual bar (Figure C)

4. Lingual bar with cingulum bar (continuous bar) (Figure D)

5. Cingulum bar (continuous bar) (Figure E)

6. Labial bar (Figure F)

 

 

 

 

 

The lingual bar and linguoplate are by far the most common major connectors used in mandibular removable partial dentures.
